New paintings Mid September

I seem to have been spending a lot of time in the studio, working from reference studies, time to go out on location again now that it is starting to cool off and the eyeflies are not so numerous, its hard to put down a wash with a fly climbing in and out of your ear.

A lot of non-painting activity last week , but I did manage to squeeze out a few new works.

The originals of these images can be seen in the Dockyard Arts Centre

Have a group show coming up with the other Dockyard Artists in October.

Going to be a busy busy painter for the next month

Watercolour with gouache

I had a request from an art consultant overseas to do a watercolour which turned into an request for an opaque medium after I had started.

I did it as an opaque watercolour and it was successful and I enjoyed doing it.

I invested in some gouache on my next trip and have done a few paintings which I started as watercolours and then I came in with the gouache to finish. I like it.

Making progress slowly

The site is up, and I am slowly rebuilding it.

Rather than putting up all the images I had on before I am choosing a selection from each year. I think it will be easier for the viewer but it takes time to sort through all the archives.

I like this new way of doing things. I have, over the years moved from Dreamweaver and Dreamweavers precursors, to Rapidweaver which was very easy to use but, because it writes it own proprietary code Rapidweaver caused me enormous grief when I switched computers and I had to relink all the images.

I now have to start all over again anyway so i have switched to WordPress. So far I like it.
